Redemption. Consider these Scriptures as you think about the discussion questions.

1. Scriptures picturing the Kingdom of God:

Matthew 13:31-33 (the parable of the mustard seed and the parable of the yeast and the dough)

Matthew 13:44-45 (the parable of the hidden treasure and the parable of the pearl)

Matthew 25:31-46 (the parable of the sheep and the goats)

John 15:11-32 (the parable of the lost son)

2. Scriptures picturing the new life in Christ:

Colossians 1:15-23, 2:6-3:17

3. Scriptures picturing the New Creation:

Revelation 21-22

Discussion Questions

•   In what sense is Christ the solution, healing, or redemption for the issues of sin that you've seen in your work?

•   How is your work an opportunity to partner with God in making all things new (or fostering the kingdom of God)?

•   How do you see God working through your work to bring redemption to:

--broken relationships? (how does your work further reconciliation?)

--our broken relationship with creation? (how does your work further care of creation?)

--our alienated relationships with God?  (how does your work foster faith and love for God?)

--our alienation from ourselves?  (how does your work help bring about inner healing and peace?)

--broken systems and unjust societies?  (how does your work foster justice and shalom in world?)

•   In what sense does your work only fully make sense when seen through the lens of the Gospel?  What is missing when your work is seen or approached without awareness of Jesus?

•   When Jesus says, "Well done, good and faithful pharmacist/psychologist/physician/nurse/dentist, etc", what might that mean?

•   What is eternal about your work?

•   What does Jesus love about your work?

•   Do you ever worship in the midst of your work?  Can you worship in the midst of it?  why or why not?

>> Food Sign-Up
Being able to enjoy a meal together each week is certainly a blessing, and it's made possible through the loving generosity of your fellow Sonrisers who cook each week. If you would also like to serve your brothers and sisters in this way, please sign up here (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AuFz1M4H3v9-dHk0SU5kb3ZaV1RZT3IyZ3dBWHZKdlE#gid=0). It would be a real treat for us to experience your delectable creations, it's also a great opportunity for you to get to know someone while preparing a meal together!

>> CommUNITY Listserv
The listserv is live! As part of Sonrise's Vision for this year, the leaders wanted to create a separate listserv for those who are interested. It will serve as a tool to foster and develop relationships within Sonrise by actively sharing God moments, prayer requests, praise reports, encouraging words, etc. It will also be used to organize casual and impromptu get-togethers and hangouts to build community within Sonrise. With God's help, we hope this separate listserv will be a huge blessing to us and help further God's kingdom. Email Henry (hlin017@gmail.com) to be added. You can unsubscribe at any point if you would like but don't miss out!
