Announcements:
Lunch on Campus
Lunch, every Tuesday, 12-1 p.m., courtyard in front of the nursing building. Our vision/hope for these lunches is that they would be a time of fellowship, a space for non-Christians to share a meal with Christians and be blessed, and a testimony of God and His church's presence at UCSF. The lunches will be super casual so feel free to invite friends. All are welcome. :) 

Prayer on Campus
Prayer, every Monday and Thursday, 12-1 p.m., outdoors area on the second floor of the nursing building (go up the stairs and then through the doors). Come see/hear God's heart for UCSF. Come pray for our campus, classmates and friends, and the body of Christians on campus, including Sonrise. Come hear testimonies about God working. Come receive prayer from fellow Christians. This meeting is for all Christians on campus so feel free to invite others. Call Steph at 650/823-2645 if you can't find us on campus, and email her at stephchiao@gmail.com if you are interested in becoming a member of the prayer team. 

Sonrise Small Groups
What might you and Jeremy Lin have in common?  Being in a small group!  Small groups are a great way to delve deeper into God's word, fellowship together, and lift up our prayers for each other to God.  Small group has begun for this quarter focused on integrating faith into all aspects of our daily lives, e.g., as a student, a professional, a friend, and a family member, most likely using Henri Nouwen's book, "Life of the Beloved: Spiritual Living in a Secular World." We'll meet twice a month, Tuesdays @ 526 Hugo Street from 7-830 pm. Sonrise will be hosting a Veritas Forum on campus this spring. See this link for details on what a Veritas Forum is: http://www.veritas.org/About/What-Is-Veritas.aspx. If you'd like to help plan or make this event possible, please e-mail core2012@sfsonrise.org for more details.

American Medical and Dental Services (AMDS) Medical Missions 2012
For those of you who attended the Missions Panel back in November, Dr. Dennis Ing from Kaiser Oakland shared about his experiences on medical missions trips with AMDS, a Christian medical organization based in Riverside, California. Below are the details for this year's upcoming trip. This will be a great opportunity to partner with some Christian doctors and dentists who putting the gospel into practice through medical missions.
Volunteer with CityTeam Clinic
CityTeam is a ministry that provides prayer, food, clothing, and medical care for the underserved and has a free medical clinic in the SoMA two Saturday afternoon a month, for about 2-3 hours. The clinics are staffed by prayer/triage volunteers and volunteer providers. More info on the clinic: http://www.cityteam.org/sanfrancisco/They are always looking for more people who are interested in serving at the clinic, and they ask just one shift every 6 months from volunteers to keep the clinic going. If you're interested, please email one of the directors, Anne Kinderman (anne.kinderman@gmail.com). In particular, they are looking for prayer/triage volunteers in May, and more urgently medical providers (which can be MS3s, MS4s, MDs, NPs, etc) in March, April and May. Questions? Valentine's day for Freedom House Women
Valentine's day is almost here, and we have the opportunity to show love to the women at the Freedom House, a local home for women saved from prostitution and trafficking.  Last year, Sonrise (men and women) made donations of goodie bags, recreation equipment, household goods, hygiene products, etc, and we would like to continue this loving tradition again. This year, the Freedom House is in need of new bed sheets and comforters for their 8 residents and asked if the Sonrise Women would be willing to deliver the Valentine's day goodie bags, cards, and baked goods again! Please reply to Johanna Chung (missjohchung@gmail.com) if you are interested in participating!

Sonrise MEN: please join us in prayer and if you feel led, financial contributions to help us purchase supplies for the Freedom House

Project Compassion: Dessert for a Healthy Heart -- Friday, February 3, 2012 @ 7pm

Are you interested in short-term missions? Would you like to help provide care to the needy? Project Compassion is a non-denominational, evangelical organization sending teams of medical and non-medical people on short term medical trips to demonstrate the love of Christ by serving those who cannot otherwise access medical care. Working with local churches, every patient is offered prayer and counseling, with follow up by local pastors. Dr. Jane Anderson is hosting an information session for anyone interested.
