Leadership Info Session: 1/12/2012
Got a tug in your heart for serving Sonrise? It's almost time for the season of leadership transitions. To find out more about the MANY ministries that exist in Sonrise, don't miss our leadership info session on Thur., Jan. 12, which will be during our regular Thursday night meeting. In the mean time, the current Sonrise leaders would encourage you to start prayerfully considering whether you would like to serve! Email Liz Shen (elizabethpshen@gmail.com) or Brian Toy (brian.c.toy@gmail.com) with any preliminary questions you might have.

Operation Christmas Child Update
10 Sonrise women met to put together 11 shoeboxes full of goodies for kids who don't get the privilege of getting gifts! Pray that these gifts would touch the lives of those who receive them and be a testament of God's love for them.

Babysitting for Derrick & Audrey
Derrick & Audrey Lung, both physicians, are a married couple who currently live at Mission Bay and regularly pray and stay involved with Sonrise life. They are looking for a few people who would be willing to come over and play/babysit their son Brandon (who is a big bundle of joy!) on Saturday, 12/17, starting at 6pm, while they attend Audrey's office holiday party. They will generously provide dinner and return by 10pm. Email Audrey Lung (audrey@alum.pomona.edu) if interested!

Book Small Group on Global Health & Missions
The Global Health & Missions small group has officially launched, but it's not too late to join! If you are interested in global health and/or missions, you may be interested in joining Nancy and others in reading The Meeting of the Waters by Fritz Kling. They will be meeting about once a week for a book discussion. Please email Nancy Liu (nancyhhliu@gmail.com) for additional details!

"Therefore we do not lose heart…for our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." ~ 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Biblical pearl: As many of us head into the season of finals, let us strive to make our studies a living sacrifice to the Lord. Yet at the same time, let us fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen! :)

Yours truly, your Sonrise leaders
